Register a Hong Kong Company as a Foreigner
Non-Hong Kong residents may incorporate a local limited company. The company still needs a Hong Kong registered office and a compliant company secretary arrangement.
Core setup requirements
Choose the company type and proposed name, identify the founder member or shareholders and appoint at least one natural-person director. A private company also needs a company secretary and a registered office in Hong Kong.
If the company has only one director, that sole director cannot also act as the company secretary. A natural-person company secretary must ordinarily reside in Hong Kong; a corporate secretary must have its registered or principal office in Hong Kong.
- Proposed company name and business activities
- Director and ownership information
- Identification and address evidence for the relevant people
- Hong Kong registered office address
- Company secretary appointment
What can be completed remotely
Document collection, due diligence, structure confirmation and preparation can be coordinated remotely, subject to satisfactory identity, address and ownership evidence. Additional information may be requested depending on the activities, countries involved and ownership structure.
Company incorporation does not guarantee a bank account. Banking, payment processing, licences, tax and operational setup should be planned as separate workstreams.
A practical formation sequence
First confirm the intended structure, name, address and company secretary. Then complete verification, approve the incorporation information and prepare the filing documents. After incorporation, organise banking, accounting records, invoices, tax correspondence and recurring compliance.
The JumpPlus HK$9,000 package includes the government incorporation fees. A written quotation confirms the documents and any optional company secretary, address or ongoing administration services.
