Hong Kong Business Registration Certificate Guide
The Business Registration Certificate is separate from the Certificate of Incorporation and the Companies Registry annual return. Keep the documents, fees and deadlines distinct.
Current Business Registration fee
The Inland Revenue Department fee table shows a total of HK$2,350 for a one-year Business Registration Certificate commencing between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2027. The amount consists of the registration fee and levy.
The applicable amount depends on the certificate commencement date, so the official table should be checked at incorporation and every renewal. JumpPlus's HK$9,000 company formation package includes the government incorporation fees; the written quotation confirms the current amount included.
Business Registration renewal versus annual return
Business Registration renewal is administered by the Inland Revenue Department. The annual return is filed with the Companies Registry and reports current company particulars.
For a private company, the annual return government registration fee is HK$105 when delivered within 42 days after the relevant anniversary. Paying the Business Registration fee does not replace the annual return obligation.
Records and changes to manage
Keep the Business Registration Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Articles of Association and statutory records in an indexed company file. Track the certificate expiry and the annual return date separately.
A change in business particulars, address or company information may require notifications to different authorities. Confirm the forms, timing and responsible party before making the operational change.
